Meeting with Pauline, #YUJgirl
A brief overview
Can you introduce yourself ? Hello, my name is Pauline, I'm 33, I've been a nurse for 10 years (damn already!) and a yoga teacher in Hyères in the Var.
When and how did this passion for yoga come to you? From a very young age, I have enjoyed practicing dynamic sports. But a few years ago I wanted to practice differently and above all more serenely. It was there, 6 years ago, that I found myself in my very first yoga class. My first experience did not really delight me... but I persevered, and it was through numerous works by BKS iyengar, or even André Van Lysbeth, that I started alone, on my mat in my living room. Becoming a teacher was not necessarily part of my plans. But when I returned from India last year, where I took a vinyasa yoga training, sharing this passion and building my own flows was such that I embarked on the adventure of " Poses Yoga ".
What does this represent in your daily life? Today yoga is an integral part of my way of life. It helps me find a certain physical and spiritual balance. My personality has not changed! I remain a very speedy person and a "little bit" stressed! Thanks to Yoga I become aware of it.
Do you find time to practice during your travels? I never leave without my mats. When I arrive in a new place, the first thing I do is find a yoga class. I really enjoy practicing alongside new people.
What is your favorite YUJ product? For the moment, my favorite at YUJ is my beautiful OMMM sweatshirt that I wear proudly in different circumstances, both at the restaurant and to walk my dog, its cut is great!
What is your favorite country so far? I am lucky to have visited many countries and continents, but what I love above all is the mountains in summer.
Good addresses to share? If you decide to come and practice with me, you can eat next to the studio at the Bagus Café. You will appreciate many multilingual recipes made and imagined the same morning by their super chef Marion and their juices are to die for!
I also practice often at the Jardin de la Piboule in St Tropez. A magical place charged with energy where you practice in a greenhouse in the middle of fields cultivated by Yann the market gardener and his draft horse Traviata.
For you, "the place to be" is it? The place to be is on my mat.... I don't care where once on my mat I am transported...
In the cinema, which actors/directors make you dream? I don't really like going to the cinema, I prefer to stay curled up in my huge plaid in front of fantastic films with Harry Potter.
A quote that defines you? The quote that could suit me... "Dreams are made to be realized".
What does a day in the life of Pauline look like? A day with me starts very early since I get up at 4:50 a.m. to take care of my little patients until 6 p.m. Afterwards it's jogging in the hill with Eika my labrador and finally, a solo practice in my living room with good music.
